Fines for Failing to Comply

Since the 1st July of 2021, when a brand new, renewed or varied tenancy is signed on a Kilbirnie rental property, all Healthy Homes compliance items must be done inside of 90 days.

Kilbirnie Healthy Homes Compliance Timeframes

Tenancies signed beginning on 1 July 2019 to the 30th June in 2021

  • The insulation of the ceiling and underfloor is a requirement in all Kilbirnie and New Zealand rental houses where it’s reasonably practicable to install.

From July 1st 2024

  • All rental houses must be in compliance with the Healthy Homes Standard regardless of the date when the tenancy started.
